Late Victorian Amethyst Riviere Necklace

A beautifully flowing Victorian amethyst riviere necklace: 19 graduated oval, mixed-cut amethysts, with each cut down collet set to yellow gold mounts, set with gold snap clasp, circa 1870. Joanna Hardy says: “This necklace will sit right on the collar bone and so it is a great statement jewel. Nicely matched stones make a very good set and the whole jewel is in good condition.”
