The Designer Kenneth Jay Lane, born in Michigan was an exceptional American costume jewellery designer. After graduating from The Rhode Island School of Design in1954 he moved to New York and became a member of the staff at the Vogue Art Department before moving on to design shoes for Delman and Christian Dior. It was while working for Dior that he began embellishing shoes with rhinestones, and this is where he explored with the idea of designing jewellery. He launched his jewellery business in 1963 with his designs adorned from celebrities to the fashion-conscious lady of today.
