Gold Bulldog Stickpin, ca.1900

Vivienne Becker says: “A stickpin, the gold surmount motif modelled as the characterful head of a bulldog, with diamond eyes and thick buckled collar. Animal motifs were especially popular for stickpins at this time, around 1900, when a formal attire for gentlemen was required for social events.”
