Faraone Mennella, Gold and Steel Necklace, 1990s

A striking vintage necklace of steel and gold, which converts to two bracelets, by the New York based, Italian brand Faraone Mennella. Faraone Mennella€™s designs shot to prominence in the early 2000s when his best selling Stella earrings were worn by fictional character Samantha, in the iconic TV series Sex and the City. What followed was a meteoric rise and a bevy of A-listers clamouring to wear Mennella€™s pieces. This elegant and unconventional necklace is designed as oval links of blackened steel, studded with brilliant-cut diamonds, alternating with similarly shaped polished 18k yellow gold links. Signed Faraone, the necklace converts to two bracelets. Recognised as one of jewellery€™s brightest stars for his unique designs, Roberto Faraone Mennella passed away in June 2020, aged 48.
