Diamond Riviere Necklace

A lively and fiery diamond riviere necklace, consisting of 56 graduated old brilliant-cut diamonds ranging from 0.3 to 2 carats, weighing a total of 34.5 carats, all cut-down set in silver to an 18ct yellow gold mount, with old brilliant-cut diamond-set clasp and safety chain. This necklace was initially made circa 1880, and remounted by Bentley & Skinner in 2012. It would be just as at home at a Victorian ball as it would a modern evening event. Statement-making yet incredibly versatile, this necklace also features a small hidden link inside the largest central diamond, from which can be suspended a pendant for an even more dramatic look. Joanna Hardy says: “I really like this necklace. Very nicely matched cushion-shaped diamonds and made well in the traditional style of the late 19th century €“ a very lovely diamond riviere!”
