A George III garnet-set demi-parure. The necklace consists of four garnet-set foliate clusters linked with articulated garnet-set trefoil-links, 17.5 inches long; the bracelet consists of 17 articulated garnet-set trefoil-links 7 inches long, all garnets cut-down set to yellow gold closed-back mount.Joanna Hardy says: “The flat backs of the garnet settings in this necklace and bracelet demi-parure let the jewels sit easily. The garnets are foil backed to give them a really rich red colour. Both jewels are in very good condition. They each have concealed clasps, which look good and close with a satisfying and secure clip. The necklace splits into a further two sections. The garnets are nicely matched, the necklace is flexible and light in weight. Both are in very good condition given their age. A nice period jewel.”
