Diamond Double Clip Brooch, circa 1925

Double the clip, double the joy! Geometric and symmetrical in design, these brooches typify the best of the Deco period, with their clean lines and contrasting baguette-, circular- and single-cut diamonds.The 1920s saw a creative explosion in brooch designs. Technical advances in manufacture, precious metals and gem shaping gave way to designs which relished linear forms, simplified elements and bold silhouettes. This pair of hinged-clip brooches of a stylised scroll design are dated circa 1925, and are an excellent example of the period. Almost 100 years since they were made, their wearability hasn’t aged a day and demand for Deco jewels from jewellery connoisseurs and enthusiasts (who are discovering the versatility of clip brooches) is yet to wane.
